Cultivating inner wealth
«Every human being seeks lasting happiness, free from suffering. Living in a complex and ever-changing society can cause confusion and lead to dissatisfaction. Over the past 2,500 years, Buddha’s teachings have encouraged people to cultivate their inner wealth by developing compassion and discernment.
Even today, the values conveyed by Buddhism help us to live our lives as human beings more meaningfully, by taking care of ourselves, others and the world. Thanks to the three aspects of practice – studying the Dharma, meditation and implementation in everyday life – we gain a better understanding of how we perceive our environment and our true nature.»

Chenrezig Practice Day
A day of Shine meditation and the practice of Chenrezig, the bodhisattva of compassion. Open to everyone, including those new to the practice.
More about Shine and Chenrezig practice
What is Shine meditation?
- Meaning: The word means “calm abiding.”
- Goal: The mind becomes peaceful, clear and stable.
- Method: We observe the breath to remain in the present moment.
About the Chenrezig curriculum
- Guidance: The program was designed by Shamar Rinpoche and is conducted under the guidance of Lama Jigme Rinpoche.
- Goal: Gradually establishing the foundations for Chenrezig meditation in order to transform one’s state of mind and develop a pure view.
- Structure: The cycle spans several intensive annual courses and retreats (currently in its 9th year).
Through the practice of Chenrezig – the source of universal compassion and the knowledge of ultimate reality – we connect with the nature of our mind, Buddha nature. The power of compassion and the understanding of reality purify the veils of suffering, such as emotional concepts and the mental confusion underlying them.
“As one of the eight closest disciples of Shakyamuni Buddha, Chenrezig – Avalokiteshvara in Sanskrit – was present when the Buddha gave teachings on the Bodhisattvayana. Chenrezig is a tenth-bhumi bodhisattva: a bodhisattva whose realization is so radiant and complete that he possesses all the qualities of a Buddha and can be regarded as fully enlightened. His vow is to remain in samsara until all beings are liberated from the suffering and confusion of cyclic existence … The meditation and recitation practice of the four-armed Chenrezig presented here is a particularly effective method for practitioners. It originates with the 15th-century Tibetan mahasiddha Tangtong Gyalpo, who was himself Chenrezig in human form.”

Kagyu Monlam Practice Daywith the livestream from Bodhgaya and Kundreul Ling
A vast gathering of aspirations for the well-being of all beings: together we recite the Monlam aspiration prayers, joined with practitioners around the world.
More about the Kagyu Monlam
The Kagyu Monlam is a vitally important event for Buddhist practitioners of the Karma Kagyu school. For a full week, participants join together to recite aspiration prayers for the well-being of all beings.
This year’s 24th Kagyu Monlam is taking place in Bodhgaya, India – the site where Buddha Shakyamuni attained enlightenment. Thaye Dorje, His Holiness the 17th Gyalwa Karmapa, will lead the aspiration prayers beneath the Bodhi tree, accompanied by great practitioners of the lineage.
The Kagyu Monlam offers people from around the world the opportunity to come together and recite prayers born of the profound wisdom of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. The power of these aspirations is multiplied when thousands of practitioners gather to unite their wishes for the well-being and spiritual development of all.
