Join us so the Buddhist nuns of the Karma Chokhor Dechen Nunnery receive more support, better training and equal treatment.
The monastery is located in Rumtek (Sikkim, India), near Nedo Rinpoche’s monastery. It is run by the truly dedicated nun, Ani Tsultrim and follows the spiritual guidance of HH the 17th Gyalwa Karmapa Trinley Thaye Dorje. The nunnery is home to 35 nuns between the age of 8 and 50, 23 of whom attend school. In 2022, Dhagpo Switzerland contributed to the renovation of the meditation hall which was in serious danger of collapsing. We have been funding teacher Dechen’s salary since 2023. In the near future, we would like to provide further financial support for the extension of the school and the library, among other things.

In January 2024, we founded the «Rumtek Nuns Circle of Friends» to share our experiences, promote international networking and provide interested persons with more regular information.
In an interview with HH Gyalwa Karmapa in March 2024, he encouraged us to continue with our commitment to providing resources and advocating for the equality of the nuns. We would be grateful if you could join us.
