Dharma Week with Lama Jigme Rinpoche
12. September – 17. September 2026 | Männedorf-Zürich

Creating the right conditions for a Buddhist initiation requires many helping hands. Through effective teamwork and organization, the Dhagpo Switzerland team in Männedorf successfully managed this task.
On Saturday and Sunday, September 12 and 13, 2026, Lama Jigme Rinpoche—a meditation master and nephew of H.H. the 16th Karmapa—conferred the empowerments of the 2nd Karmapa, “Karma Pakshi,” and “White Tara.”
These precious initiations empower recipients to gradually realize enlightened qualities through the corresponding practices. Step by step, Rinpoche guides practitioners and those interested in Tibetan Buddhism on how to cultivate the timeless qualities of love, compassion, and wisdom by applying these methods in daily life.

Book Reading with Lama Jigme Rinpoche: “A Path of Wisdom” September 14 in Männedorf.

A very harmonious evening with an interested audience launched the Dharma Week with Lama Jigme Rinpoche, following the two empowerments held over the weekend.
Lama Jigme Rinpoche offered insights into his published book, “A Path of Wisdom”. Responding to a wide range of questions from the audience, he explained how Buddhist methods can be applied to everyday situations.
The event concluded with a book signing, and a reception rounded off the evening by Lake Zurich.

Following a book reading on Monday evening, Lama Jigme Rinpoche offered stimulating and profound teachings on how we can shape our daily lives using Buddhist meditation and related practices. In this way, one learns to gradually integrate these centuries-old methods into a Western lifestyle.

The program was complemented by sessions on Sheng Zhen, Chenrezig meditation, practical guidance, and general introductions provided by the study group from Dhagpo Kagyu Ling.

We extend our gratitude to everyone involved, as well as to those who provided diverse forms of support from Kundreul Ling and Dhagpo Kagyu Ling. Thanks to the excellent work from Astrid and the translation team, it was possible to follow these precious teachings from anywhere via Zoom.

Once again this year, the program featured presentations on various fundraising initiatives. At several information booths, attendees could learn about the ongoing temple construction in Sikkim, speak with Ani Tsültrim—who oversees the nunnery in Rumtek—and acquire blessed ¨tsatsas¨ to support the Sharminub monastery in Kathmandu. There was also a presentation by Dhagpo Kagyu Ling.

We look back with deep gratitude on this inspiring time spent with Lama Jigme Rinpoche and are already looking forward to seeing him again in Switzerland next year.
